Iron Cross Karate

Iron Cross Karate is for ages 4 thru adult. We teach our students American Karate and the 4 pillars of Iron Cross Karate are:

1. Character Development
We want to develop well-rounded athletes that become strong not only physically, but by their mind, heart, spirit and attitude.

2. Sport & Athleticism
Students will have the opportunity to compete at Karate competitions as they grow within our program.

3. Self Defense
Our prayer is for our students to never actually have to use the skills they learn in class to protect themselves, however, if they are put in a situation, they will be well prepared.

4. Tradition
It is always important to know where you come from. Our students will learn why we say specific words/phrases

4-5 year old Classes

Our 4-5 year old Karate classes are twice a week for 30 minutes each. This is a fast and fun class where students learn self-discipline, self-respect, and how to listen. We teach our students the basic skills of karate through games and drills that not only teach them about body control, but also quick thinking. This class prepares our 4-5 year olds for the speed and structure of our 6+ year old classes.

Student Attire: all students must wear uniform top, pants, and belt.

Girls must wear shirt underneath uniform top.

6 Year Old - Adult Classes

Our 6 year old and older classes are twice a week for 1 hour each. We offer separate class times for our 6-12 year olds, 13-17 year olds, and our 18+ adult classes. These classes teach students the fundamentals of karate while they work their way to a black belt. Students will focus on self-defense and sport techniques that will build their confidence on and off the mat. In addition to working muscle memory skills, we focus on the importance of creating good habits when reaching our goals. This class is a fun workout that will build physical and mental strength for everyone. Our goal is to better prepare students for black belt and teach them how to apply their martial arts skills in everyday life.

Why take Karate?

Our goal is to help create athletes who are not only physically strong but strong in all aspects of life. Students will be trained to understand how their own body can be their greatest asset in any situation. This includes their brains and knowing when to walk away. Karate is a sport built off respect and self-defense. It is not about fighting. Karate gives students confidence to take on any challenge they may face and respecting anyone they encounter. Karate techniques can be applied to when students have a math test coming up they need to study for, a presentation they are expected to give to a room full of people, or they run into a bully who will not leave them alone. Karate teaches students to believe in themselves when tough moments come in life. These moments might knock you down, but karate teaches us to not let tough moments keep us down. This sport is a great way to learn body dexterity, balance, flexibility, and overall improves one’s physical and mental health. The benefits of martial arts are endless and will transition to other sports and/or life challenges students will experience.
